I Have A Wooden Captain's Bed To Trade For A Sofa Bed (Escalon)
I have a captains bed that I want to sell so I can buy a futon or sofa bed so I want to be able to use my sons room (now that he has left the nest) as something other than a bedroom, yet still have a place for guests to sleep.
Information:
(see bed #1 ) This bed houses either a queen sized mattress (free if you want it with the purchase of the bed), an air mattress, or a waterbed mattress. (see bed #2) It has 3 sets of 2 drawers on each side of the bed (6 total on each side = 12 drawers). (see bed #3) The drawers are pretty deep, eliminating the need for a dresser in most cases.
It was made for a friend of mine by her husband when they first got married. It’s made of knotty pine wood which has been stained. This is sturdy! (see bed #4 )The headboard is a shelf that just lays on two boards that extend from the bed. Those boards could be cut if you didn’t want to use the head board and then the bed would fit snug to the wall. As is it site out from the wall a bit for the shelf to sit on as the headboard.
It was used by my son and now that he is no longer living at home I’m looking to use his room for more than a bedroom by putting in a sofa bed instead.
As far as I can tell the only damage to the bed is as follows:
(see bed #5) My son had a dog that slept with him and it has a few scratch marks where the dog stretched and marred the wood. I’m sure they would probably come out with a little furniture polish and elbow grease.
(see bed # 6) There is only one real ding in the bed and it’s in the corner where the sides join. (see bed #1) You can see it on the right edge of the full picture as well.
(see #7 & #8) On the left side one of the drawers has the face place detached. With a couple of brackets it can be replaced easily. That side sits snug to my wall and I never knew about it until I went into take these pictures.
