About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Shear and Brake Press Operator with at least 2 years of hands-on fabrication experience. This role is responsible for accurately cutting, bending, and forming sheet metal components to specification while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate the metal shear to cut sheet metal to the required dimensions.
• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC or manual brake press machines for bending and forming operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine job specifications.
• Perform material inspections to ensure size, type, and quality before processing.
• Measure completed workpieces using calipers, tape measures, and square tools to verify accuracy.
• Select proper tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges for each job run.
• Maintain machine settings, perform routine cleaning, and report any mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with material handling, staging, and movement as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating shear and brake press equipment.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and forming processes.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication prints.
• Skilled in precision measuring tools and quality checks.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with CNC brake press programming (Amada, Accrues, etc.)
• General welding or fabrication skills
• Forklift certification or material handling experience
• Pay: $28.00
